Fun day at the Lakewood Brewing Company with my friends in the White Rock Running Co-Op. The Hubs and I sampled several of their brews in a flight and while they were all great, we loved the very unique "Sin Mint." Sorry beer purists, close your ears on this one. This brew featured notes of mint and graham cracker crust..."thin mint"...get it?!?
Double bonus - we helped do some good for the North Texas Food Bank by contributing specific items of which they were in need AND we got to watch the Olympic Marathon Trials on the big screen!!
The LBC taproom is open Wednesday - Friday from 3 - 9 pm, Saturday from noon - 9pm and Sunday from noon - 6pm. They offer brewery tours at 1, 3 and 5pm on Saturday and on Sunday at 2 and 4pm. We just missed the 1:00 tour when we arrived and then had to leave just before the 3:00 tour started due to our date at the brand new Alamo Drafthouse Dallas (spoiler alert, it's amazing) with a wise-cracking antihero in red spandex who made a lot of money over the weekend. So before we left, I snuck around behind the taproom to check out the rest of the LBC premises.
Thanks Lakewood, for a fun afternoon!!
